MOSES software training for floating systems and marine operations

Hands-on training in Bentley's MOSES for hydrostatic and hydrodynamic analysis: hull modelling, stability, motions, RAOs and mooring.

  • 3days for the Basic course
  • 14topics, from hull model to mooring results
  • 6offshore operations MOSES simulates, from loadout to float-over
  • 3of our own floating solar projects used MOSES
Course levels

From your first barge model to a mooring analysis

The Basic course takes you through the whole MOSES workflow. Engineers who already use MOSES can go further at Advanced level.

Level 13 days

MOSES Basic

For: New MOSES users, naval architects and offshore engineers

Model a barge, check its stability, calculate its motions and RAOs, and run a mooring analysis.

Hull modelling and stability

  • The MOSES system, its modules, analysis types and the user's manual
  • Hull Modeller: building a sample curved-bow barge
  • Stability GUI: a stability analysis of the modelled barge
  • Exporting from the GUI to the MOSES environment
  • Curves of form and hydrostatic curves
  • Ballast definition and righting arm curves
  • Stability code and guideline checks

Motions, meshing and mooring

  • Motions GUI and environment definition
  • RAO calculation, with and without vessel speed
  • Generating the hydrodynamic database
  • Motion results and statistics
  • Mesher GUI
  • Mooring line and environment definitions
  • Mooring analysis and post-processing of results

Where you will use MOSES

MOSES runs hydrostatic, hydrodynamic, mooring and structural simulations for the offshore operations below.

  • LoadoutMoving a structure from the quay onto a barge
  • TransportationBarge and vessel motions during the tow
  • LiftingCrane lifts of offshore modules and structures
  • LaunchingLaunching a jacket from its barge
  • UpendingBringing a launched structure upright
  • Float-overInstalling a topside by float-over

Moored and floating units. In-place analysis of FPSOs, floating platforms and semi-submersibles, in the frequency and time domains, with the MOSES Language for scripting.

What every course includes

Software, material and a certificate

View a sample certificate (PDF)
  • Software access

MOSES access for every trainee during the course.

  • Training material

Course material for each trainee, provided by Aryatech.

  • Certificate

A certificate from Aryatech and Bentley when you complete the course.

  • Engineers as trainers

Taught by a team that uses MOSES on its own projects.

Why learn MOSES with us

Trained by engineers who use MOSES on their own projects

MOSES is Bentley's package for hydrostatic and hydrodynamic analysis of offshore floating systems. We teach it, sell it and use it ourselves.

  • AuthorizedBentley training for MOSES in India and the Middle East
  • Practitionerswe used MOSES on all 3 of our floating solar projects
  • Supplierwe also sell MOSES and MOSES Wind Turbine licences
  • Wider toolkitwe train in SACS and OrcaFlex too, for the rest of your offshore workflow

Questions

What engineers ask us about MOSES training

What does the MOSES Basic course cover?

Hull modelling, stability (curves of form, hydrostatics, ballast, righting arms and code checks), motions and RAOs, the hydrodynamic database, meshing, and mooring analysis.

How long is the MOSES course?

The Basic course runs over 3 days.

Is there an advanced MOSES course?

Yes. Contact us and we will send you the current advanced outline.

Do I get a certificate?

Yes. You receive a certificate from Aryatech and Bentley when you complete the course. You can view a sample before you register.

Is the MOSES software included?

Yes. Every trainee gets MOSES access and training material for the course.

Who should take MOSES training?

Naval architects and offshore engineers who work on floating systems, marine operations such as loadout, transportation and float-over, or moored units.

Can we buy MOSES licences from you?

Yes. Aryatech is an authorized Bentley channel partner and supplies MOSES, including MOSES Wind Turbine, in India and the Middle East.
