What is STAAD.Pro used for?

What is the difference between STAAD.Pro and STAAD.Pro Advanced?
STAAD.Pro covers 3D analysis and design for steel and concrete, physical modelling and code checks. STAAD.Pro Advanced adds nonlinear geometric and cable analysis, floor spectrum analysis from time-history loading, and automated concrete reinforcement drawings, details and schedules.
What is in Structural WorkSuite?
STAAD.Pro Advanced, RAM Structural System, RAM Concept, RAM Elements and RAM Connection, in a single licence, with the iTwin Analytical Synchronizer for model exchange with Revit and Tekla.
What does STAAD Foundation Advanced do?
It designs isolated, combined, pile cap and mat foundations, with or without piles, using the geometry, sections and support reactions from your STAAD.Pro model, and produces drawings, a bill of quantities and calculation reports.
Does STAAD.Pro support Indian design codes?
Yes. Bentley lists Indian IS codes among the codes supported, alongside AISC, ACI, Eurocodes and British Standards. STAAD Foundation Advanced designs to ACI and Indian IS standards.
Are all design codes included?
STAAD.Pro supports many international design codes, grouped into design code licences. Tell us the codes your projects use and we will make sure your licence covers them.
Can STAAD.Pro do seismic analysis?
Yes. STAAD.Pro analyses structures under earthquake loading, with modal time-history analysis, and STAAD.Pro Advanced adds floor spectrum analysis from time-history loading.
Is STAAD.Pro a CAD program?
No. It is analysis and design software that integrates with CAD tools such as AutoCAD by importing 3D models.
Can STAAD.Pro be automated?
Yes. The OpenSTAAD API gives scripting and programmatic control, and lets you pull data into Excel or your own programs.
Should we use STAAD.Pro or SACS for offshore structures?
SACS is built for offshore structures such as jackets and topsides, with wave loading, pile-soil interaction, fatigue and collapse. STAAD.Pro suits general structures, including jetties and equipment supports. We supply and train both, and can advise on your project.
How is STAAD.Pro licensed?
Each edition is a 12-month subscription with one licence and Bentley Keys for training or services. Enterprise options are available, and students and educators can get free academic access.
