Featured projects

Three jobs, three parts of the rig

Helideck upgrade for MI-17 operations: Aryatech engineering model
Helideck

Helideck upgrade for MI-17 operations

A self-elevating drilling unit had to take the 13 t MI-17. We delivered the structural analysis, reinforcement details and a complete detailed drawing package.

Bow leg brace damage study: Aryatech engineering model
Leg damage

Bow leg brace damage study

Three damaged braces on the bow leg. We checked local strength and buckling in operating conditions and defined the reinforcement needed.

Hull transportation and sea-fastening design: Aryatech engineering model
Transport and tow

Hull transportation and sea-fastening design

We analysed the hull under tow inertia loads, designed the sea fasteners and supplied detailed fabrication drawings.

How we work

From your planned change to yard-ready drawings

  1. 1

Share the rig and the change

Rig drawings, the equipment or modification planned, and the operating and tow conditions.

  2. 2

    Agree scope and conditions

We confirm the load cases (operating, elevated, transit, ocean tow) and the deliverables.

  3. 3

    Model and analyse

Global and local models of the affected structure, in ANSYS, SACS or MOSES.

  4. 4

    Design the reinforcement

Reinforcement, foundations or sea-fastening wherever the checks show they are needed.

  5. 5

    Drawings and report

Analysis report and detailed or fabrication drawings, ready for the yard.

Questions

What rig owners and drillers ask us

Which jack-up modifications have you engineered?

Helideck upgrades, lifeboat platforms, derrick wind walls, drill floor fittings, crane and equipment foundations, cantilever extensions, leg length modifications and slotted-to-cantilever conversions, among others.

Do you provide drawings, or only analysis?

Both. Recent work includes a complete detailed drawing package for a helideck upgrade and fabrication drawings for sea fasteners.

Can you check a modification in elevated and transit conditions?

Yes. For example, we checked a derrick wind wall and a Sea Jet reel platform in both elevated and ocean transit conditions.

Can you assess leg damage?

Yes. We have studied a bow leg with three damaged braces and a starboard leg deformation linked to spudcan preload, both in the North Sea.

Where have you worked on jack-ups?

In India, including work for ONGC, in the Middle East and in the North Sea, across 16 documented projects.

Planning a rig modification or upgrade?

Send us the rig drawings and the change you have in mind. An engineer will come back with questions and a scope.
